Monel alloy 400 high tolerance tubing has excellent resistance in the presence of flowing seawater or brine as well a rapidly flowing brackish water. Which is why the Monel 400 tube is almost extensively used in applications involving the marine industry.

At acids modest temperatures and concentrations, the 400 Monel Heat Exchanger Tube is able to offer some resistance to hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid although the alloy is seldom considered to be the ideal choice of material for those applications which contain these acids.
